CARM

CARM (Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira) is a family-owned estate company around the village of Almendra in the Upper Douro, inside the Côa Valley Archaeological Reserve, with family records going back to the mid-17th century. It farms about 220 hectares of olive groves alongside vineyards and almond orchards, using only olives from its own estates, and converted to organic production in 1995 under SATIVA control. The olives, mainly the native Madural, Negrinha and Verdeal varieties, are pressed at the family's own mill, and its DOP Trás-os-Montes oils are sold direct from the CARM online shop.
